DANIEL DuEast Boutique

REGENT PARK

The Daniels Corporation has partnered with Toronto Community Housing to re-develop Regent Park - 69 acres in downtown Toronto. These organizations share the vision of creating a healthy, sustainable community that will bring new vitality to Toronto's Downtown East. Daniels is the builder/developer for the entire community, including OneCole Condominiums, the first residential condominium in this important revitalization; OnePark West, the first condominium located on the new central park; Paintbox Condominiums, which rises from the new Arts & Cultural Centre, known as Daniels Spectrum; and next door to that, One Park Place.
The revitalization restores a diversity of architecture that matches surrounding neighbourhoods, reconnects Regent Park to Toronto's grid of streets and avenues, and includes the creation of new commercial spaces and community facilities including a bank, grocery store, aquatic centre, new community centre, resturaunt and an Arts & Cultural Centre.
A key tenet of the revitalization is including both rent-geared-to-income and market units - together in the same community. When the Regent Park revitalization is completed over the next 10 to 15 years, 12,500 people will live in 5,115 units across 69 acres of the largest publicly funded community in Canada. The plan includes the replacement of the 2,083 existing social housing units in Regent Park with new, energy efficient, modern units and the introduction of approximately 3,000 market units for sale.
Beyond the physical infrastructure, the revitalization is acting as a catalyst for social and economic change with more than 465 jobs already created for local residents. Over the next several years, as the revitalization continues, Regent Park will undergo a remarkable transition that will mean big changes and exciting opportunities for residents new and old.

THE URBAN-MASTER PLANNING FOR OVER 200 MILLION SQUARE FEET
OF RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT

The firm’s founding principals, Babak Eslahjou, Charles Gane, and Deni Poletti share a design philosophy that focuses on creativity, innovation, and sustainability; and a business vision that is client-focused, striving to maximize efficiency while meeting schedule and budgetary constraints.
Beginning in 2001, CORE Architects entered the international market in the Middle East when we were contracted by Emaar Properties to provide master-planning, site coordination, and design for over 100 million square feet of development at the Dubai Marina, a waterfront community along the Persian Gulf.
Through their successes with Emaar Properties CORE became involved with numerous other international projects such as the design of the flagship branch of Dubai Bank as well as numerous other condominium developments in Dubai and the design of several resorts in the Caribbean.
Their ability to export and adapt design solutions and technical expertise have created real value for our clients as their projects achieved market success.
This approach has resulted in a loyal and dedicated clientele that turn to CORE year after year for their planning and design requirements.
For The Daniels Corporation, each new home community is a work of art – literally.

From conception through to completion, every Daniels high-rise and low-rise neighbourhood is designed to enhance its surroundings and make a statement about its unique character. This addition of local public art is a cornerstone of the Company’s design philosophy.
In an effort to increase exposure for local artists and provide a source of economic development for the community, Daniels will be bringing our Local Art Program to Regent Park, involving the commissioning and sourcing of art pieces from emerging, mid-career and established artists – based in Regent Park and the surrounding area – to be installed in public spaces throughout DuEast Condominiums.
DuEast isn’t the first Daniels project to feature local art; this Program was also extended to include Paintbox Condominiums, One Park Place Condominiums, One Park West Condominiums, One Oak (a Toronto Community Housing building), HighPark Condominiums, and Daniels Waterfront – City of the Arts. The impact of this Program has not only been a source of local economic development, but artists have been able to increase the exposure of their work, network with interior designers, art curators and other artists and, in many cases, build their confidence and self-esteem by having their work and talent on display.
